If you have decided to try and make money freelance writing, you may find yourself in a rut after a few weeks trying to settle on primary area of focus. If you know anything about cars or trucks, both are great niches to focus your freelance writing efforts! Not only can you get focused on an area, but there are enough sub-niches in the overall car category that you can ultimately end-up starting one or many blogs on sub-niches as you become a more experienced writer to make more money online!
Getting Started Writing About Cars
The single-best way to start writing about cars is to get focus on the topics that you would like to write about first. I recommend starting with “Top Ten” and “Top Five” lists to help your efforts. This can range from the “Top Ten Mustangs of All Time” to the “Five Best Engines for Corvettes.” This will start to give you focus on what you enjoy writing about with cars as well as what you really know without having to research a lot. Associated Content is a great forum to start writing these types of articles as you are getting started in your niche.
Refining Your Writing in the Car Niche
As you publish more and more content on Associated Content or other related freelance websites you will want to expand your horizons a bit and try out the eHow freelance website. This will help diversify your freelance writing portfolio for the point when you will start looking for higher paying jobs. Some good topics that you can start with dealing with cars are to pick the last three to five car projects or maintenance tasks that you have completed and write on “How to do these events.” For example, “How to Dispose of Automotive Oil in California”, “How to Balance Your Tires for Less than $50,” to “How to Clean Up After Kids During a Road Trip, “ are a few topics that you could try to get started! You will find the eHow topic a bit different than the free-form approach that Associated Content requires, however, many writers that I’ve come across prefer a more rigid structure to their articles…so you may just like eHow better!
