Work From Home – Finding Freelance Writing Gigs
- 4 Comment
Work From Home. Finding freelance writing jobs can sometimes seem daunting when you’re getting started freelance writing . Although this isn’t necessarily a comprehensive list of freelance writing sites you can check-out, it should serve as a good place to get started finding gigs that help you make money online working at home! Feel free to add more sites in the comments, and I’ll re-issue the post once there are enough to make it worth re-posting!
Work from Home – Freelance Writing Gigs That I Write For Regularly
Associated.com - My recommended web-site to get started freelance writing. You will end-up writing for other folks as well, but Associated Content (AC) is the place to get started freelance writing! You can make money for up-front payments as well as a staring amount of $1.50 per thousand page views for all content that you write. You have more control over topics at AC than any other freelance writing website that I’ve come across.
DemandStudios.com-If you’re just starting out, you’ll want to wait to apply to DemandStudios until you have a bit of a resume built up. DemandStudios requires you to provide a resume, a writing sample, and choose three categories that you would like to write about. It can sometimes take a while to get an answer on your application, but once picked up by Demand Studios, the going rate on most articles is $15 USD per article with a recently introduced revenue sharing format option for some article titles
eHow.Com- You’ve likely surfed to at least one “How To” article in the last year. eHow pays you based on a proprietary formula based on revenue sharing for your work with a fair bit of social interaction within the eHow community required to really get going. I normally post here about every other week when I have a topic that fits their format I want to share.
TextBroker.com – Need a mental break once you get going? TextBroker is the place for you. Not that high of a paying site (you start at about a penny word), but you can crank out some of the topics fairly quick here and gives you another income stream!
Work from Home – Other Freelance Writing Gigs
BloggerJobs.biz – There are a number blogging jobs that range from part to full-time.
Constant-Content.com - Constant Content is a site where you put articles up for bid at varying rights levels. I’ve had mixed success here, but know others who swear by them!
FreelanceWriting.com - The site has a mix of resources to help you get started freelance writing with a few job opportunities.
Helium.com – I’ve only done a small bit on Helium. You make money based on sharing in ad revenue on the topics you contribute to and are expected to comment throughout the community.
Jobs.ProBlogger.net – An ok jobs board if you’re looking for blog work.
JournalismJobs.com – Job listings for blogs, newspapers, magazinesand other forms of print and online media.
Online-Writing-Jobs.com – Various freelance writing job listings for a number of different types of sites and media.
Suite101.com – Suite 101 is pretty strict on their standards compliance, but you can write on a variance of topics and earn money based on revenue sharing for the advertisement income of your articles (similar to eHow).
WritingBids.com – Another bidding freelance website (if you can’t tell, I’m not a huge fan of these, but other friends are).
Work from Home – Random Freelancing Websites
AllFreelanceWork.com – Another freelance community that has a listing for work in many topics besides freelance writing.
Amazon Mechanical Turk- Run by Amazon.com, if you’re up for very low paying work (but paying) then go here. I’ve used it a tad early on…before I realized how much I should be making working at home…but like I said, it does pay, just really low.
BizReef.com – Contractors post jobs and you bid on them here in a wide variety of fields.
Elance.com -A well known freelancing website with all kinds of freelance work available. Freelancers can set up profile pages listing all of your skils.
FreelanceJobs.org – Freelance working that can post profiles for employers to search as well as where you can list jobs that you want to pay a freelancer to do.
FreelanceWar.com – Listings for all kinds of freelance work (not just writing).
GoFreelance.com – Has job listings for authors, marketing and several other fields.
Guru.com – Freelance work in a number of fields including broadcasting, illustration, Web design, and more.
iFreelance.com – Site where freelancers can bid on work from prospective employers. If you find work here, it generally pays pretty decent
TheFreelanceNation.com – This site pulls together listings from 119 different freelance job boards with listings for legal work, web design, photographers, PR and many, many more fields.
Work from Home – Making Money On-line
That’s about it for now. Please post comments for more sites that you feel are worth getting the word out for others to find freelance work! If you’re really bored and want to check out more of my sports-related writing, the RSS Feed for my AC content is here.
