Work at Home – Creating Freelance Writing Samples

Work at Home. If you’re starting out trying to work at home freelance writing and decide that you want to get beyond publishing for websites initially, then you will quickly find that potential clients will want to see sample work in the niche you are proposing to write. If you think about it, the person or company likely wants to make sure they are bringing in someone who knows what they’re doing to write on their topic (if not an expert!). From a few samples, the person looking to potentially hire you can get a feel for your writing style and capability!
Why Worry About Writing Samples ?
If you’re serious about working from home as a freelance author, then having a plan for how you will present freelance writing samples to potential clients is key! Just think, most of your clients will want to see that not only can you write coherently, but that you are also experienced in their field! If you are brand new to freelance writing, its ok to write your samples up as part of your application to the client for work. You can even publish the articles through Associated Content and make a few bucks out of your sample work! If you’re going for a print media job, then they will likely want to see published work for your writing sample.
Tips to Providing Freelance Writing Samples
Here are some tips for you on writing samples in your quest to work at home as a freelance writing:
1 -Make sure you send writing samples that are relevant to the topic and/or style the client is asking for
2 – Be flexible in the format that you can send the samples to the client
3 – Make sure you double and triple check the spelling and grammar of everything you send the client
4 – Only send what the client is asking to look at but you can provide a note that you can provide additional material or you can include the URL of a related blog or website in your information that you include in the application.
5 – Don’t forget that blog and Associated Content articles can be used as writing samples!
