Making Money Online. Many weeks, I write upwards of 40 to 50 freelance articles across various websites and Internet search is a core component of my work. Although each of the Big Three Internet Search providers (Yahoo, MSN, and Google), has their own strengths and weaknesses, I’ve always been interested in a search tool which combines the results of the three major search engines. I came across Scour.com a few months back and was pretty impressed. Scour provides you the results of all three search engines combined into one search result. The other neat thing with Scour, is if you sign up for an account with the company and conduct your Internet searching through them, you can add a nice passive income stream to your portfolio without doing anything different from what you are now! Not only that, but as a freelance writing tool, you can’t beat Scour displaying the results from all of the major search engines on one page!
What Makes Scour Different than Google, Yahoo, and MSN?
One of the main benefits to the Scour search engine is the ability to put a human layer on top of the search engines through the ability to comment and/or vote on results from the search engine sites. For example, say you are looking for a download of a good shareware 2D image program. You enter your search in Scour, get your search results, then vote positively on search results that provided what you were looking for, maybe even comment on pros and cons of the site used for downloading the software, and if necessary leave a down vote or negative comments on results that are off-base. The next time another user visits the Scour site and looks for the same downloads, they’ll be able to read your evaluation and save time. Ultimately, Scour will use the human component of SEO to make the computer algorithms used by the major search engines even more effective!

Now besides using Scour to make the Internet a better place and to see results from multiple search engines in one place, you’re encouraged to use the tool to make money as well! Signing up for a Scour account is free. I chose to install the Scour tool bar to Mozilla for using the service, but you are not required to do so. To date, it pays between 25 and 50 dollars USD about every 6 weeks if I’m doing a lot of Internet research. The Scour model is setup on a points-based system where you can get up to three points per Internet search. One for the search action itself, and up to two for voting on search results that are relevant to the topic. You can also choose to comment in lieu of a vote on each search.
